Tandem

What we store

• Your profile: email address and display name, which come from PowerExt Account.
• Your household: its name, its invite code, and who belongs to it. A household has at most two people.
• Items: what you add, such as groceries, events, gifts, routines, workouts and documents, with their titles, due dates, who they're assigned to, whether they're shared or private, and details such as a store, an occasion, a link or a document reference.
• Reminders: when an item's reminder is due.

Tandem doesn't store files, photos, your location or payment details. Items in the Vault hold a reference to a document, such as its issuer and expiry date. They don't hold the document itself. Still, keep in mind that what you type there can be sensitive.

Shared and private items

• Shared items are visible to both of you, and either of you can edit or delete them.
• Private items are visible only to the person who created them. Our server enforces this on every request, so your partner can't open one even by its id.
• A gift you add for your partner is private unless you choose otherwise.
• Your partner can't see your email address through Tandem.

Who processes it

• Sign-in: PowerExt Account.
• Hosting: our server in Helsinki, with Hetzner and Cloudflare as described in the overview.
• Google: Tandem's web app loads its graphics engine and some fonts from Google's servers (gstatic.com), so Google sees your IP address when the app loads. Nothing you enter is sent there.

Tandem has no analytics, advertising, AI or email providers.

Storage in your browser

Tandem keeps your sign-in tokens in your browser's local storage: one lasts 15 minutes and is renewed by another that lasts 30 days. Signing out removes them. Tandem uses no cookies.

How long we keep it

• Items are kept until one of you deletes them, and deleting an item removes it at once.
• Leaving a household: if your partner stays, the shared items you created stay with the household, and your private items are no longer visible to anyone. If you were the last member, the household and all its items are deleted.
• Server logs and backups follow the overview.

Export and delete

Tandem doesn't yet have buttons for these. Email [email protected] from your account's address, and we'll send you a copy of your data or delete your account and your items. That includes the private items you left behind in a household.
