Mind
Last updated 16 October 2026
Mind is a private journal. You write, speak or add photos, and Mind reads each entry to note how it felt, who was in it and which goals it touched, so you can look back later. A journal is personal, so this page lists everything Mind keeps and every company that sees any of it.
What we store
- Your profile: email address, display name, time zone and the hour you'd like your evening reflection.
- Entries: what you write, when you wrote it and the day it belongs to.
- Photos and voice notes you add to an entry, in our storage in the European Union. The app redraws each photo in your browser before uploading it, which removes its location and camera data (EXIF).
- What Mind read in an entry: feelings, the area of life it's about, what kind of entry it is, the people and goals it mentions, a place if you named one, the text of voice notes, short descriptions of photos, and a list of numbers (an embedding) that lets search find entries by meaning.
- Your corrections, people and goals: when you change what Mind read, add a person or set a goal, we keep your version, and Mind doesn't overwrite it.
- Ask: we don't keep the questions you ask your journal or their answers. We keep only a count of how many you asked each day, to apply the daily limit.
Mind doesn't take payments and has no advertising or analytics.
Who processes it
AI
Mind sends entries to two AI providers through our own gateway, which runs on our servers. We don't send your name, email address or account id with any request.
- Anthropic (Claude) reads each new or edited entry: its text, the text of its voice notes, its photos, and the names of your people and goals so it can recognise them. When you use Ask, it receives your question and up to 12 of your entries that match it.
- OpenAI turns voice notes into text, and turns entries, searches and questions into embeddings for search.
Under their API terms, neither provider uses this data to train its models. How long they keep it:
- Anthropic deletes requests and answers within 30 days. If a request is flagged as breaking its usage policy, it may keep it for up to 2 years.
- OpenAI doesn't keep voice notes it turns into text. It keeps text it turns into embeddings for up to 30 days to detect abuse.
- Either may keep data longer when the law requires it.
Our gateway records which model was used, how many words (tokens) went in and out, and what it cost, but not what was sent or answered. It keeps that record for 30 days.
Sign-in and hosting
You sign in with PowerExt Account. Mind runs on our servers in the European Union, as described in the overview. Mind never writes what you wrote, said or asked to its logs.
Who sees your journal
- Your entries, photos, voice notes, people and goals are visible only to you. Mind has no sharing.
- The AI providers above see what's described there, and only to answer Mind's request.
Cookies and storage
- mind_refresh: keeps you signed in, for 30 days. It's sent only to Mind's sign-in address and can't be read by scripts.
- mind_signin: used during sign-in only, for 10 minutes.
- While Mind is open, it keeps a short-lived sign-in token in memory, never in your browser's storage.
- If you install Mind as an app, your browser stores the app's own files so it opens quickly. It doesn't store your entries, photos or voice notes.
How long we keep it
- Your profile and journal are kept until you delete your account.
- Deleting an entry removes it from Mind at once: from your journal, the calendar, search and answers to your questions. The entry, its photos and voice notes and what Mind read in it stay in our database and storage, hidden, until your account is deleted.
- The daily count of questions is kept with your account.
- Server logs and backups follow the overview.
Export and delete
Mind doesn't have buttons for these yet. Email [email protected] from your account's address, and within 30 days we'll send you a copy of your journal, or delete your account. Deleting your account erases everything listed on this page, including entries you had deleted, photos and voice notes. It can't be undone.
Deleting your Mind account doesn't delete your PowerExt Account.
