PowerExt for AI assistants

PowerExt's connector lets Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants that speak MCP use your PowerExt apps for you: Tandem, Mind, Wander, Scribe Menu and your AI credits. You sign in with your PowerExt account, and it acts only for you.

Connect

You need a PowerExt account. It's free, and it's made the first time you sign in to any PowerExt app (with your email, Google or a passkey). Then:

Claude (claude.ai, desktop and mobile): Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector. Name it PowerExt, paste the address above, and click Connect. Sign in when the PowerExt page opens.
ChatGPT: add PowerExt from the plugins directory, or as a custom connector with the address above where your plan allows it, and sign in.
Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http powerext https://mcp.powerext.co/mcp, then /mcp to sign in.
Cursor, VS Code and others: add a remote (streamable HTTP) MCP server with the address above; they open the sign-in page.

Then ask in your own words, for example "what's on our grocery list?" or "watch flights from Helsinki to Barcelona on 5 December under €80".

Before you start

Open each app you want to use once, so it knows you: Tandem (and create or join a household), Wander, Scribe Menu, Mind.
Mind is closed to assistants until you open it: in Mind, open Settings and turn on "Let AI assistants read my journal". Turn it off and they can't read anything more.

Tools

Write tools only add or mark things done. None delete anything.

Privacy and permissions

The connector acts only for the person who signed in, and only in the apps they use. It never sees another person's data, or your partner's private Tandem items.
It stores nothing, and logs only which tool ran, whether it worked and how long it took: never what was asked or answered.
What your assistant reads goes to the company behind it (for example Anthropic or OpenAI), under its terms.
AI work done by the apps for you (Mind's answers, Scribe forms) uses your PowerExt AI credits, as in the apps.

If something doesn't work

"hasn't used … yet": open that app once with your PowerExt account, then ask again.
"isn't in a Tandem household yet": create or join one in Tandem.
"Mind is private until you allow it": turn on "Let AI assistants read my journal" in Mind's Settings.
"AI credits are used up": they come back on the 1st, or get more at billing.powerext.co.
Sign-in fails: remove the connector in your assistant and add it again.
